Have you heard of the “Miss Plus Canada” Pageant?

mpcp2

…So Let me give you the details, This event takes place June 30th 2014 and will be the first Annual Miss Plus Canada Pageant. (Keep in mind this isn’t the first EVER plus pageant in Toronto, but this is a first ever show for this organization)  The Show will be held at the Fairview Library Theatre.

For those of you that may know,  I am a former Pageant Contest from a previous show in 2007 and I am VERY  excited to see the Show and meet the lovely Contestants who will be competing. I know Pageants in the past get a lot of negative flack so here’s my take on it. When executed in the correct manor it can be an inspiring experience for both the Contestants and the Spectators.

I was apart of  “The Miss Canada Plus Pageant”  in 2007, and it was the most empowering experience of my life, it forced me to have a platform, to step outside of my shell and be fearless about who I am as a Woman and even more importantly to challenge the negative notions imposed on the “plus sized” community through society.

Also I plan to be in attendance at the show so look out for a future review.  For more information or to purchase your ticket check out their official website:   http://www.misspluscanada.com/

I’d love to meet you if you plan on coming down email me directly at: Candiapplecouture@gmail.com…and save me a seat! Maybe we can have cocktails during or after the event to debrief and stir up some good conversation.
